Dashboard content no longer resizes with browser window

Does anyone know how to get the dashboard contents to resize when the browser windows is resized?  This used to be the norm and I'm not sure when it stopped working - sometime int he last 2 releases.  It works fine when you are in Design and then click save - the window that comes up resizes perfectly as you change the size of the browser window, but when it's displaying for users in the dashboard tab, it seems to locked to a really wide width.  This is happening for me in both Chrome and FireFox (newest versions) on both
