unexpected results in inv_rcv_std_rcpt_apis.create_std_rcpt_intf_rec

I am trying to call the api inv_rcv_std_rcpt_apis.create_std_rcpt_intf_rec for generating receipt number for a given shipment number , but the transaction code is ONLINE instead of batch or immediate.
