Switch ASM diskgroup from 2k to 8k block size for Oracle RAC db

Currently we have Oracle RAC db on ASM with 2k block size diskgroup. We want to change the ASM diskgroup block size to 8k. We will perform backup of database before making the change. My question is once the ASM diskgroup blocksize has been changed to 8k and discovered, how can we make the db to use the new ASM diskgroup? Please advise. 

Can this change be done on the same server or it has to be on different servers? If on the same server, what change of the db needs to be made to see the new diskgroup? Gurus, please advise.
