while adding supervisor to employee getting error -frm-40212 invalid value for field supervisor_id

While adding supervisor to employee, the supervisor is not available in LOV and getting error -frm-40212 invalid value for field supervisor_id . But the supervisor is properly set up as employee and have got authorization limits defined.
