Data Refresh Frequency in Reports

Data Refresh - I've updated an existing picklist choice to have a different value.  The reports don't reflect the change in a Dashboard despite refreshing.  I am using the right field in the report (value vs. label).  How often is the reporting environment refreshed?  I have updated a new record with the new value to try and trigger an update which hasn't worked.
