Error when defining AM business unit

Hello,

We are currently on PeopleSoft Financials version 9.2, and are in the process of implementing ALM. We have used the setup manager to define the tasks necessary, as well as consulted PeopleBooks, but the steps seem very scattered and out of order. Further, we already use GL, AP, and AR, so many of the steps have been completed previously. In attempting to define the Business Unit, we are getting errors. For example, although we have set up calendars and timespans, there is not calendar available for selection on the Business Unit/Book Definition page. Also, when trying to save the definition,
