Keeping historical values for Attributes
Hi everyone,
We have an Attribute on our recs that users fill in to designate their staff member (which more or less ties to function/department the rec is a part of). We use a drop down list to ensure we have data accuracy for the values.
We had a hypothetical question asked, and leads to this discussion-
If we have a re-organization and need to modify our staff/department Attribute values, is there a way to preserve the historical values that have been set in previous recs?
Through some very basic testing, it looks like any modification to the Attribute drop-down values will apply those across all recs + history. We may end up having to delete/create new values for this drop down depending on the extent of a re-org. This could end up removing this value for previous recs and lead to data being missing for those completed.
