create a business process

I have just created a new business process.   I created it and deployed it in our staging environment.  I configured it, and added it to a project so I could test it.   However, it is not listed in the logs in Access control.  So I can't actually see it.   Apparently I have missed a step.   Can you tell me what step I missed?
