Essbase Calculations - how essbase thinks

Hi Gurus,

I have a problem with calculations on Essbase - calculations are taking too long time ( 5 - 6 h ), but the amount of data is small and i have one questions,

if i put in FIX(@Idescendant(Product,0) and @Idescendants(Stock,0), and 2017 - this are a sparse dimensions  and then make if on dense member and next make if on attribute

and calculations depend on the attribute, so i would like to knows how Essbase make this calclation, hi goes through the whole intersection of dimensions even if there is no data there ??
