Oracle US Payroll (12.1.3). What type of element would you use to recover over payment of earnings when employees have pretax 401k? A deduction element or earnings element to act like a "negative earnings" in order to reduce taxable wages?
We want to create an element to collect money every pay period, from employee that was over paid, until the debt is fully repaid. The situation is the employee has pretax 401k. Our Auditors want the element to reduce gross wages by value owed for the pay period.
Desired effect - to reduce the taxable wages of the employee and the earnings eligible for other pretax deductions
