Is there ever a need to Unitizing Assets after consolidating those same assets

Hi, I am relatively new to AM and I have a question:  Is there ever a need to Consolidate Assets, and then attempt to Unitize that same (consolidated) asset?  Naturally, before the CON asset is loaded into AM. Thank You
