In UDesigner - Is there a workaround to use one data element more than once on the same upperform?

We have used a specific custom data element text box to populate comments in an upperform when BP is "withdrawn". However, the withdrawal step are on 2 different places/steps in a really complicated workflow. We have 20 associated action forms for all the 20 workflow steps, but only one View Form. On 2 action forms containing the withdraw option we have added the same custom data element - no issue.

But it seems impossible to have the same custom data element selected on the same upperform (one View Form) in different places/steps.

Is there a way around this apart from creating a second data element for the second place/step? Thank you.
