MRP - Process Order Messages and Make vs. Buy

We have items set up as purchased but occasionally made in house and vice versa (i.e. set up as make but purchased sometimes).  When processing MRP order messages, can the planned order type be changed so that a WO is generated in lieu of OP (if set up purchased but decided to make in house) and vice versa?
