custom web tab not to reload

in CRM On Demand - Reports and Dashboards (MOSC) Question

I have a dashboard showing in custom web tab. It has a multi select prompt in it. When users select some of the options in the multi-select, the reports work as expected but when they click on one of the links that takes them to the detail page of that record and they use the "Back to Dashboard XXX" at the top, the prompt reset itself to all the values again. Basically the dashboard is reloading every time. The custom web tab has an HTML iframe in it. Can I make it not reload every time?... Any workarounds?
