Change to Need By Date not working

Our version is 12.1.3. Our system has been configured to make changes to Need by Date to an Approved PO without further approval with the relevant tolerances.. A user has amended a number of lines to her PO and received the necessary confirmation that this has been done, but when she requery, the original date is still showing. Any suggestions?
