Getting ORA-12578 when connecting to database

Hi all,

I'm using Oracle Wallet as a secure external password store only, not using the TDE option. It has been working well for the most part, but I get periodic ORA-12578 errors, and the wallet will not open. I was able to get around the first of these errors several weeks ago by deleting and recreating the most recent credential. The wallet then performed well for several weeks, during which I added more credentials to it. The ORA-12578 error has now recurred, and my previous fix of deleting and recreating credentials does not solve the issue - the wallet remains closed
