Any downsides to having a lot of journals/journal entries?
We have a lot of supplemental data that the business needs to enter into HFM directly - no ERP/source system has this information for us to load from. We have data forms available but the complaint has been that it takes too long to enter data that way and there are numerous limitations to what we can do with a data form to make it easier for them to enter data.
We have allowed some of that supplemental data to be submitted through journals using a template that helps them build the journal file that is uploaded. The business would like to expand that approach to nearly all our supplemental data requirements. The corporate group reviews the journals before they are posted so they are ensuring that the POV where the data is going is correct (this is also managed through the template they are using to help build the journal).
