R12 FSG reports with more than 20 columns

We are in the process of upgrading to R12.2.5 from 11.5.10.2. I am trying to migrate an FSG report to Oracle Report Manager and testing how we will add columns to the report. It is a frequent request. The report currently had 38 columns. When I go into the Column Set, the Create Heading window is not manageable because of the quantity of columns. I tried putting the column headings for the new columns in the Report Manager template but the rows are not lining up properly.

What is the best way to manage the column headings in a Report Manger template once you get past 20? It was easily managed with Oracle client ADI.
