What is SEQ hierarchy?

Hello,

In AIP version 16, I would like to know what is the purpose of the sequence hierarchy (SEQ) for intermediate schedule measures. I believe SEQ hierarchy is used for safety stock calculation specifically for service levels but what is the role of SEQ hierarchy in intermediate schedules?

sample intermediate measure: ipstrintschl1d

Just in case you ask, we are interfacing intermediate schedule from an external system and thus the question.
