Error in getting permissions for file/directory

Questions

What does this error mean?  What is the cause?  How can I fix it?  Is this the right space/forum/group/place?

Details

"Installing Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.1.0" on CentOS Linux Release 7.3.1611.

First step, "Copying files for 'Oracle Universal Installer 10.2.0.1.0'"

59% done, "instantiating '/home/oracle/base/product/10.2.0/db_1/OPatch/opatch.ini'"

Error dialog pops up, "Error in getting permissions for file/directory".  It seems related to oui/bin/addNode.sh, not OPatch/opatch.ini.

The end of /home/oracle/oraInventory/logs/installActions2017-07-10_04-02-09PM.log reports the following:
