Removing Old/Unused Journal Categories & Sources to make dropdown list smaller

Hi,

I am trying to remove a bunch ofJjournal Categories (see example below) and Sources that we no longer use but I do not see the delete option. Is there a way to remove these? What will happen to the historical journals that were posted using these? Would Account Inquiry use Source or Category to drill down?
