How to nullify Profile Attributes in Same User Session

Dear Experts,

We have one existing functionality Prospect to Contact creation

1 User Created the Prospect and we have button on Prospect if user click this button we are setting on profile attribute

2 When above-mentioned button clicks it will navigate to contact screen.sometimes prospect will not be converted to contact.

3 For those of them, the profile attribute which initiated that remains to store same value. could you please suggest how to nullify that.
