rman slow when compress

I have 2 servers a t4-1 with 11gr2 oracle database and a s7-2 with 12c database on both servers is backed up to disk and it is fast but when using compression in rman the process is very slow is approximately 10 to 1. I had read that some compression programs are not multi-thread compression rman if it is multi thread or you have to set some parameters to do so.
