OCA thick client com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.io.MalformedByteSequenceException: Invalid

Hi

I've been trying to configure the OCA thick client on windows xp with java 1.6 and ASAP 7.0.2 P6, the error obtained is the following:

Failed to initialize session, reason: com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.io.MalformedByteSequenceException: Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF8 sequence.

The WEB applet works fine with the same credentials.

All cartridges were validated to not have any multi-byte character that can cause that error.

Any idea of what could be happening?
