Dear all,

In case of rolling patch apply, following to readme  instructions, is best to leave the instances up, and using "opatch auto" takes care of stopping and starting them.

Actually my question is: In which mode would be database shout down?  Normal, Immediate, Transaction or Abort?

According to company's security policy database must be always shutdown in Transaction mode.
