How do we define object account range

One of my required scenario is to calculate Current assets and Current Liabilities. I'm depending upon LOD s and object account range(Currently i'm hard coding the values).

We can change the the object account number using global update.If so, my report will go wrong. Is there any other table storing this information ranges or Parent child Hierarchy information.
