Ship Confirm - In Transit PRocessing Option

When ship confirming an order with the InTransit processing option on tab Process set to blank, the related purchase order on an ST- OT is not updated.

When we enable the processing option then it receives the purchase order.

What is the use of this processing option and the impact of enabling it?
