remove failed node from RAC - no longer available

Hi,

if my node is no longer available due to hardware failure, how do I update this on my RAC? I cannot run ./rootcrs.pl -deconfig -force   from the failed node because it is no longer available. Is there a command to run ./rootcrs.pl -deconfig -force from another available node where I can specify node name? I want to add a fresh node and crs will error outif there is a missing node (I guess), therefore I will have to clean up my cluster
