records after undo retention

Hi,

I see that once a transaction is over then after undo retention time the active undo blocks  become unexpired blocks but why not expired blocks?

I checked this in v$undostat.

What make the undo blocks becomes expired . I see that this is definitely not the undo retention after which the blocks become unexpired but not expired.
