Automatic Unique Asset Number against Multiples books ( Group of companies)

Hi,

We have requirement to have unique asset number across different Assets Books,  Currently unique asset number is available only across instance. But our requirement is automatic asset numbering across each asset book.

Is there any solution other than the manual.
