AP Integration with new Lease Administration module

We are very excited to hear about the Lease Administration module’s integration with Accounts Payable. Does this functionality rely at all on existing integration between Asset Management and Accounts Payable? I am asking because our organization has the Asset Management module but we do not have it integrated with AP. Would this be an issue with trying to automate payments if we implement the Lease Administration module?
