Samba share could not be mounted with FQDN

Hi,

We have a samba share configured on Solaris 8 server. It could be mapped as a drive on windows desktop only using the FQDN or the IP address of the Solaris machine.

This problem has occurred around a month ago. Earlier, mapping the drive using only hostname was working fine.

Samba software version 2.2.3a.

This configuration uses, domain authentication on a Windows 2003 server for the mounting the share. As far as i had searched, the recommendations provided were to set up LanManWorkstation on windows server registry. We did that as well on the Windows 2003 server, but still i couldn't mount the share without the FQDN.

Howdy, Stranger!
