LCM epm_cloneimport.sh - Why not with Planning Application?

Hello.

I am new to managing Hyperion and I am looking to create a backup Disaster Recovery in nightly batch.  I ran across emp_cloneexport/import process and started working with the export only to see in the documentation that I can't use the emp_cloneimport process wiht Planning Applications.

My Questions:  What is it that prevents me from importing a Planning Application?

                         What are my other options to create a nightly batch that will export the entire application and copy into and instance on another server?
