Use of text Functions like Substring, LTRIM, RTIM and others in FInancial Reporting Studio (FRS)

I am designing Financial Reports in FRS tool. Member labels for the CoA segments are displaying as below in the reports. This happens the same for other CoA segments also

   1. If I select "Member Name" as Member Label: I see only the CoA code , for e.g report displays 50000 for Natural Account

   2. If I select "Alias: Default" as Member Label: I see only the CoA code - Description , for e.g report displays 50000 - Assets for Natural Account

Here, the manual workaround is to insert an additional text columns and manually add text there.

But when we try to add range of child values for a parent value like "Children of 50000", this workaround doesnt help.
