Alternate accounts: potential use in a massive change of ccid

Hi,

does someone has used alternate accounts for a massive change of combinations instead of changing accounting information in legacies, subledgers or SLA itself? Are performance acceptable since all ccid would be replaced for each posted transaction as long as obsolete ccid are used? It would avoid lots of changes in legacies, subledgers and custom SLA setup.
