How to track deep discounts or 'Gifts in Kind' as revenue in PeopleSoft 9.2

We currently use an application to process our Gifts in Kind, both deep discount and straight donations.   It doesn’t appear that there is a financial process within PeopleSoft 9.2 that would support this and wonder if perhaps the Purchasing module could be used.

For instance, we purchase an item from a supplier for $6,000.00.  The supplier offers $1,000 educational discount, which reduces the invoice amount to $5,000.00. A further ‘in kind’ amount of $1,000.00 is offered further reducing the invoice amount.  However, the in kind amount needs to be tracked as revenue and the value of the asset remains at $5,000.00.
