Performance impact of rules in a local domain when run in batch versus in the workbook?

Hi,

       As part of our testing we noticed a few rules running longer in the onlines (for several mins), when run in batch for a local domain, completes within a second. Is there any setting (env variables) that can be done which will speed up the rule execution in the online?
