IP17 Composer / Workspaces

I've installed and deployed IP 17 out of the box application and exploring on Web Tools functionality. I find the following problems -

How & when do i see a workspace box so that I could test my changes in the workspace dynamically ?

Also how can i change the workspace to point to different integration workspaces and test ?

Which part of bookshelf has some documentation on how to use webtools / workspaces / perform dynamic testing without compiling etc.. ?

The menu that pops up on the settings button(far right) for indentation doesn't come up in my installation.
