Merged Assets

Hi All,

In Oracle R12 and latest release, in the mass addition we get noticed an assets with merged status, I understand this is intended function,

but i still need to butter understand the situation of creating merged assets in mass addition form.

I noticed that the merged records get created from AP when there is a invoice distribution with  ER (Exchange Rate Variance) only is this correct ?

When capitalize a Project which is not related to AP mass addition, how come merged record created ?
