Can I change Legal Entity assigned to Operating Unit?

Hi,

We have to enable Spain localization for new Accounts Payables (AP) reporting. Our business expectation is to utilize the existing responsibilities, Operating Unit and other functional setup. Current Operating Unit has multiple countries and LEs assigned at the moment with default LE not from Spain. However, new fields do not appear with existing responsibilities. The idea is to modify Legal Entity that is currently assigned to Operating Unit so to assign Spain related LE. However, I have never done this before and I am not sure about consequences for this modification to key setup.

May you please share your expertise for this situation? is it safe? what could be the impact to transactions created for this OU before a change? Any guidance would be helpful.
