Can the Assets calendar be changed mid-year? Does it cause any issues?

We currently have a physical calendar for Assets, e.g. each month starts on the 1st.  Is it possible to change the Assets calendar to match our 4-4-5 fiscal calendar in the middle of a year?   Does it cause any issues?
