Comments/corrections welcome.

I don't have access to see the unpublished bug referenced in the post, or all of its details.

If there is something valuable to add or a question, please include it.

We had Redo Storage space questions during our research on purchasing a new ODA X6-2-HA. I hope this post will help others understand the situation 4 fail groups presents and the impact of unpublished bug 21157175 when calculating usable space for ODAs in general.

Our questions were encountered while attempting to determine usable capacity for Redo Storage on an X6-2-HA ODA after accounting for Req_mir_free_MB and redundancy goals. The numbers provided in the X6-2-HA ODA Data Sheet reflect storage amounts available before deducting the reserved space needed to meet high redundancy goals (the X6-2-HA Data Sheet cites 266 GB usable for Redo Storage, Full/Base Shelf). Since the amount of Redo Storage was a potential problem for us, and we knew we wouldn't have the full 266 GB to utilize (and maintain redundancy goals), we had to find out exactly how much space we'd have

Howdy, Stranger!
