Quality Test Master - Optional Test

We have created some Quality Test Masters as Optional Tests and added them to Quality Preference Profile for an item.  The entered result on the Test Results is out of range and therefore the lot is going on Hold. How do we set up the test to keep the result for reference but not put the lot on hold?
