Does Standby Database generate Archive logs or it just applied coming from PROD db?

We like to create Standby database (version 11.2.0.3) from existing Standby db.  Dont want to touch PROD to send archove log to 2nd standby. Wonder if this is even possible?

Anyone have done this?
