I am running RHEL Linux dlnxo01l 3.10.0-514.6.1.el7.x86_64 and following to the letter white paper

asmcmd afd_configure

Connected to an idle instance.

ASMCMD-9524: AFD configuration failed 'ERROR: ASMLib deconfiguration failed'

Has anyone had success with this documented approach?
