Questions on ODA storage

We have an ODA X4-2 unit with storage expansion box, configured with normal mirroring and external backup.  Due to a significant change in data retention requirements since the system was purchased, we are quickly filling up space on the /u02/app/oracle/oradata/datastore mount point in the DATA disk pool.  We are looking at options, including the possibility of replacing it with a new unit, but I am seeking answers for some specific questions.  Our immediate need may force us to use nfs mounted storage but I will post a separate question on that matter.
