MRP - Expedite vs. Cancel and Order & Expedite
Hello,
We are trying to understand how MRP makes decision on when to expedite firm work orders and when to cancel them and plan new ones & expedite instead. We have a scenario where there is a handful of firm work orders with Start Date of March 2017 but Planned Effective Date is January 2018. As a result, MRP is suggesting to cancel these orders and plan new orders and expedite instead. Why doesn't MRP simply suggest to expedite these firm orders?
What are the criteria used in making this type of suggestions?
