ebtax integration with non-oracle based systems

We have a requirement to use ebtax as a central source to calculate taxes for custom built non-oracle based applications.

I want to know what is the best practice. We have some third party applications where there is no TAX CALCULATIONS PERFORM.

We would like to define TAX DERIVATION RULES in Ebtax and write back this to source applications transaction lines. Is there any API available? or any other solution.
