TAX LINES IN AR INTERFACE TABLE

We have custom applications transactions which are interfaced to AR Interface table. What is the best way to calculate taxes on these lines:

1. once auto-invoice import is run , system will calculate taxes automatically based on defined rules.

2. Pre-calculate taxes in source system and populated tax lines in AR Interface and then run auto-import program.

Which is the best approach.

If we go for option # 2, then how can we integrate ebtax with custom applications (source systems) so that taxes are calculate in source systems rather than after its interfaced to Oracle is there any API.

Please advise.
