R12 WSH_Exceptions - Purging

Team:

Is there any negative impact to purging wsh_exception?  From what I am reading, it sounds like, these are a type of notification (for lack of a better word).  Purging for example all the WSH_PICK_BACKORDER exceptions, would not affect anything on back order.  It just informing the shipper that the item went on back order and is logging the action, correct?   The delivery would still reflect the back order and inventory analyst would still pick up the need via MRP etc.

What is the best business practice when it comes to purging exceptions? Weekly? Monthly? Quarterly?

Thanks!
